What is the Governor's Committee?

The Governor's Committee for the Purchase of Commodities and Services from the Handicapped was established as part of the Department of Administration by West Virginia Code §5A-3A-3.  This page is intended as a transparency resource for West Virginia state agencies holding contracts with the state's Central Nonprofit Agency (CNA), currently the West Virginia Association of Rehabilitation Facilities, Inc.

Among the committee's duties and responsibilities, as directed by West Virginia Code §5A-3A-4(b), the committee monitors the activities of the central nonprofit agency to assure that the interests of the state's handicapped citizens are advanced by the agency.  The committee shall make rules necessary to monitor the agency as well as matters related to the state's use of the products and services produced by the handicapped.  Except as stated in section ten, article three of this chapter, rules shall reflect agreement with the policies and procedures established by the state's purchasing units.
